Schindler Houston Delivers a Fan Experience to Remember
The Schindler Houston team came together to celebrate a truly special occasion—the sixth birthday of Advaith, a young elevator enthusiast whose love for vertical transportation is nothing short of inspiring.
After receiving a heartfelt note from Advaith’s mom, the Schindler team, led by General Manager Matthew Evans, arranged an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of a high-rise building in downtown Houston that houses Schindler equipment.
The experience was thoughtfully designed to highlight the best of our industry and give Advaith a birthday he’d always remember.
Safety first: PPE and education
Before the tour began, Advaith was outfitted like a pro in Schindler-approved PPE. As he adjusted his hard hat and slipped on his gloves, our team explained how eachitem helps keep technicians safe. It was a fun, educational moment that gave him a small glimpse of life on the job.
A behind-the-scenes look at vertical transportation
With safety protocols in place, Advaith was given a guided tour of the building that brought Schindler’s technology to life.
Highlights included a peek into the machine room—from the doorway, in accordance with safety protocols—a visit to the viewing deck, and a ride in the freight elevator. The most exciting moment came when the resident technician stalled a cab and demonstrated the pulley system from the landing. Advaith watched in awe as the mechanics unfolded before him, his curiosity growing with every detail.
When asked what his favorite Schindler elevator was, he exclaimed, “The Schindler 5000!”
A team effort worth celebrating
From the initial outreach to the final farewell, this visit was a testament to the Houston team’s commitment to community engagement and customer care. Advaith and his mom left “over the moon,” and the experience served as a powerful reminder of how our work can inspire the next generation.
