Commitment to sustainability
Our contributions to improving the environmental footprint of our operations include:
- LEED Gold certification for our Hanover, PA, manufacturing facility
- Achieved certification of environmental management system to ISO 14001:2015 for all Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.) in 2023
- Local material sourcing and "hub" distribution to reduce energy and transport emissions
- No landfill waste for elevator manufacturing, including industrial and municipal waste
- 2023 deployment of 150+ electric vehicles
- A fleet software platform that allows for significant reduction in emissions through idle reduction, eco adjustment, and speed limiting
- A fleet right-sizing program, replacing V8 and V6 vehicles with new, more fuel-efficient vehicles that have 4-cylinder engines and/or hybrid powertrains
- Membership in Corporate Electric Vehicle Alliance, a collaborative group focused on accelerating the transition to electric vehicles (EVs)
