Chamber of Commerce Building: Pittsburgh, PA
At the historic Chamber of Commerce Building in Pittsburgh, Schindler PORT enhanced visitor traffic flow, helped to improve access control, and led to a reduction in related costs.
Minimizing disruption with a phased modernization approach
Schindler modernized seven elevators within the Pittsburgh, PA, Chamber of Commerce Building, which dates back to 1917. First, our team collected data on the current useable square footage of the property, how the building is being used today, and how they see it being used in the future. Then, following a phased modernization approach, Schindler was able to apply the latest technology to the existing dated equipment before taking the first elevator out of service for complete modernization.
By improving the performance of the existing equipment immediately, the tenants saw less disruption to their service when an elevator was removed for modernization.
Efficiency and cost savings with Schindler PORT
The Schindler PORT processor, the heart of the technology, has the lowest energy consumption in its class.
Over a certain period of time, we saw a reduction in our energy use reflected in our electric bills."
