Schindler CPD UK & European Lift Regulations

UK & European Lift Regulations

The mandatory requirements for lift systems are changing and a three-year transition period is now underway.

Building owners and specifiers need to ensure the lift contractor and equipment supplied comply fully with the European standard EN 81, which is a statutory requirement and was introduced back in 1997.

This Schindler CPD seminar focuses on:

  • EN 81 Part 1:      Construction and maintenance of electric lifts
  • EN 81 Part 20:    Safety rules for construction and installation of passenger and goods lifts
  • EN 81 Part 28:    Remote alarms
  • EN 81 Part 50:    Design rules, calculations, examinations and tests of lift components
  • EN 81 Part 70:    Lifts for persons with disability (incorporates Building Regulations Part M)
  • EN 81 Part 72:    Firefighting lifts (and BS9999:2008)
  • EN 81 Part 73:    Behaviour of lifts in the event of fire alarm activation

The workshop includes a presentation and Q&A session and can be arranged at a time and venue to suit attendees nationwide.

All attendees to a Schindler CPD seminar receive a certificate as proof of attendance, helping to maintain their professional accreditation.
