Safe, reliable & energy efficient products and technology driving successes for Schindler in North America.
From Manhattan to Hawaii, Schindler is gaining ground through its reputation for providing safe, reliable and energy efficient elevators and escalators to its customers. With a higher emphasis than ever on sustainability, Schindler’s clients are demanding mobility solutions that bring real benefits to a development’s energy efficiency; and Schindler is delivering. In the following three multi-million dollar projects alone, Schindler will be providing 147 elevators and escalators.
“We are proud to be a part of all of these projects that show our strength in the North American markets. From major public transportation initiatives to skyline changing projects, our energy efficient and reliable products are truly industry leading,” said Jakob Züger, CEO, Schindler Americas.
In what will be a new center of commerce, culture and community in Manhattan, Schindler is providing energy efficient products including 4 escalators and 32 elevators, 27 of which are the industry leading high-rise elevator, the Schindler 7000.
They will be paired with the PORT Technology destination-dispatching system to help the Hudson Yards project achieve LEED Gold certification.
Designed by Architect Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, the building will be home to anchor tenant Coach, Inc.’s headquarters as well as L’Oreal USA, SAP and Fairway. Thornton Tomasetti is providing structural design. Tutor Perini Building Corporation is the General Contractor.
To achieve this ultimate LEED rating, a building must be energy efficient in all its systems, including people mobility. This is where Schindler steps in with its Schindler 7000 high-end passenger elevators equipped with Schindler’s award-winning PORT Technology destination-dispatching system that moves people faster and more efficiently throughout the building.
Energy efficiency is just one of the reasons Schindler was awarded the multi-million dollar contract by Brookfield Multiplex Construction to provide and install 6 escalators and 32 elevators at Bay Adelaide East Tower & Podium in Toronto, Canada. The development is expected to be completed in 2015. Schindler will also maintain the elevators and escalators at the building.
The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transit (HART) is building an elevated rapid transit line, the Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project (HHCTCP), that is designed to ease the area’s congested highways. Schindler has been awarded the contract to supply 49 elevators and 24 escalators to help ensure passengers have a more pleasant commute in one of the most demanding areas for product reliability - mass transit.
