Berca Schindler Lifts plays a pivotal role in supporting the COVID-19 emergency hospital at Wisma Atlet Kemayoran.
Our colleagues in Indonesia helped turn the 2018 Asian Games’ athlete’s village at the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran towers in central Jakarta into an emergency hospital to treat as many as 22,000 COVID-19 patients.
As part of our company's commitment towards quality and to deliver the best service to our cus-tomers, 20 field technicians were working on completing the refurbishment of all the equipment in less than four days.
It was a daunting experience for everybody as they needed to ensure that all elevators would be running safely for daily operations in such a short time, while knowing they were working under challenging conditions. Working 4 longs days, with everyone working very hard and always re-minding each other to keep themselves healthy, wearing the appropriate PPE, including masks and wash their hands regularly with personal hand sanitizer.
Sabarudin (Supervisor) and Santri (Technician) share their experiences: "Despite the high-risk working environment, we were delighted to receive guidance from the doctors to maintain our positive mindset and ensure to that we could disinfect properly so that we could arrive home from work keeping our families safe."
With the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia and existing hospitals in Jakarta running out of wards, the government is expanding its infrastructure and facilities. Wisma Atlet Kemayor-an is one of the buildings that has been turned into and emergency hospital and has been operat-ing since March 23rd.
A big thank you to all our unsung heroes in the field who continue to work behind the scenes and deliver best service to our customer to keep buildings and cities running all over the world!
