Electronics engineers work together with other specialists to develop electronic circuits, equipment or computer programs. You will create electronic equipment from the idea through to the finished product. Typical activities involve assembling, wiring, measuring, testing, logging, analyzing, documenting, developing and programming. In practical training (shift of focus) within the Schindler Group in Ebikon or in a partner company, you can put the finishing touches on your knowledge and skills in productive orders and projects.

Apprenticeship duration

The basic training lasts 4 years.

Vocational school

  • 1,5-2 days a week in Emmen
  • Vocational school leaving certificate (if desired)


  • Senior grade A or very good final marks in B-stream senior grade
  • Logical thinking
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in teams

Future prospects

Continuing education is essential because developments are moving very fast in this subject.
