Schindler works closely with the clients’ project teams right from the early stages of building design. Our specialists provide precise traffic simulation and energy calculations to guide our partners in designing efficient and sustainable buildings. We provide developers, architects and consultants with the most efficient vertical mobility solutions, which implementation contributes to energy savings while achieving the utmost building traffic efficiency in accordance to the most stringent international standards.
We realize the way people use technology is rapidly evolving, hence we created a transit management system that is tailored to the needs of building owners and their occupants. With the highly-efficient PORT Technology, buildings owners are able to manage traffic flow and energy-use efficiently, while providing its tenants with state-of-the-art communication, security, energy-saving and sleek-design features. Our regenerative drive systems give electricity back to the grid to power other devices, without harmonic distortion. Combined with waste management during installation, these Schindler systems can contribute to green building certification.
The International Commerce Centre (ICC) is Hong Kong's distinctive landmark.
Located at a key Harbour crossing point in West Kowloon, ICC encapsulates today's paradigm of modern living - from sumptuous retail locations to luxury boutique residences and revitalizing green spaces. ICC offers the tallest hotel in the world, observation deck, 2.5 million square feet of Grade-A offices, a 1-million square feet shopping mall, luxury residences and serviced apartments.
One of the tallest structures in the world and the highest in Hong Kong, it contains 85 elevators and 39 escalators. Taken together, its elevator shafts stretches more than 14 kilometres, and the double-decks speeding up and down the tower running in a speed of 9 meters per second. The ICC will boast some of Schindler’s most impressive products, including 40 ‘double deck’ elevators, and 18 high-speed ones.
Unusual for a skyscraper, the ICC has a flat top, which means elevators will literally reach the roof. The longest run for a double-deck elevator will be an impressive 396 meters, but one service/ fire-fighter elevator will have a staggering 474-meter run –– almost the entire height of the vast tower, which stretches to 490 meters, with 118 floors.
To achieve high levels of traffic flow efficiently in this prestigious and vast urban space, customer has selected Schindler PORT Technology. Elevators are equipped with ‘E-vision’, which allows G9 entertainment to be projected into the cabin.
Featuring a glass-paneled design that maximises day-light, extensive landscaping , the skyscraper commercial office building that rises 300 meters is the iconic landmark; of the district. One Island East, a 70-story, triple Grade-A office building, is the tallest in the Eastern part of the Hong Kong Island.
The One Island East contract involved the supply and installation of 43 elevators and escalators, including industry-leading Schindler traffic management system to maximize traffic handling and building security.
With the best in class in both design specifications and environmental credentials, One Island East is one of the few office properties in Hong Kong which has been awarded the BEAM’s (Building Environmental Assessment Method) highest “Platinum” rating in recognition for its design and energy efficiency performance.
Like many of the properties awarded with BEAM platinum rating, the building has installed the Schindler’s high-speed passenger elevators that facilitate the smooth movement of users inside the towers.
Developed by the Lotte Group, the Lotte Center will feature thirty top-of-the-line Schindler 7000; elevators coupled with Schindler’s latest innovation in transit management – PORT Technology – to provide passengers with the best possible travel experience through the building. In itself, the elevators boast the smoothest, quietest and most spacious ride through the building with high speeds ranging from 4 to 6 meters per second. PORT Technology will provide the tenants with state-of-the-art touch-screen user terminal and enhanced security, while maximizing the building’s traffic and energy efficiency.
