Elevators are one of the safest forms of transport in our urban environment and have many features designed to ensure passenger safety and comfort.
The entrance to an elevator is the only mechanical part of the elevator which passengers see and come in contact with. Conventional door sensors, also known as light rays, have a sensor that detects when the beam is broken between the door panels. This sensor acts to open the doors and prevent any injury to passengers. Technology advances now allow the light rays to detect persons directly in front of the elevators, further improving safety, especially for passengers with limited mobility (eg. wheelchairs, walking aids, visual impairment and children).
3D Light rays are a revolutionary elevator safety detection system offering maximum passenger protection. This system acts as an early detection of door interference to minimise the risk of passengers injury, as well as protecting against impact damage to the lift doors.
Suitable for all environments, especially where children, elderly and disabled passengers regularly
use the elevators.
Minimise incidents where trolleys, movers and other objects or persons collide with the lift doors
causing damage.
The elevator system uses red and green indicators to visually warn customers when doors are
opening and closing.
The light rays operate at heights from 25mm to 1800mm above floor level. The 154-beam light
curtain, coupled with coloured door indicators, alerts passengers when the doors are opening
(green) or closing (red). If the beams are interrupted, the indicators will revert back to green as the doors re-open.
