Schindler builds reputation as partner of choice with three key projects spanning China

Following recent successful collaborations in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, Schindler is once again the partner of choice for three high-profile projects in China. Schindler will bring their innovative and energy-efficient products and technology to high-rise towers in Chengdu, Yinchuan and Suzhou, that will see 222 Schindler units installed in total across the three multi-million CHF projects.

Landmark projects in western China

In 2014, the skyline of Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province in southwest China, will be further brought to life by the addition of a vibrant commercial and residential hub – the Chengdu Da Si Temple Tower. The Tower complex, located in Chengdu’s Central Business District, is a landmark high-rise standing 200m high. The complex will contain a shopping mall with more than 300 retailers and restaurants, a stylish five-star hotel, luxury apartments, A-class office space and 26 smaller offices for a diverse mix of Chinese and international corporations.

Citing previous successful collaborations with Schindler China, the project developers will exclusively incorporate Schindler products and technology that will be manufactured locally. The project will feature 168 Schindler units, including 29 of the top-of-the-line Schindler 7000. PORT Technology will also play a key role in the installation, with 22 elevators in the office tower being paired with Schindler’s award winning destination-dispatching system.

Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia province in northwest China, is also experiencing rapid industrialization and development. Schindler China was selected as the sole supplier for the Nignxia Genyuan Marriot hotel, slated to open its doors by the end of 2014. The project features 33 units overall, including 19 Schindler 7000 elevators and two Schindler 9300 escalators. This exciting new collaboration paves the way for future projects in this developing region.

Further expansion in eastern China

Planned for completion in mid-2014, the Suzhou Gate will be one of the highest towers in Suzhou, located in eastern China adjacent to Shanghai. The iconic design of the 66-story building is a source of pride for the city; the towers will have a mix of commercial and residential use. This local landmark will include Schindler elevators throughout the East Tower, with 20 Schindler 7000 elevators boasting speeds of up to six meters per second. The units will be manufactured in locally in Suzhou as well as in Ebikon, Switzerland.
