Riad/Ebikon, 19. Juli 2011. – Die Olayan Financing Company (OFC) erwirbt von Schindler eine Minderheitsbeteiligung von 10 Prozent (10%) an Saudi Elevator Company Ltd. Die Gesellschaft firmiert neu unter "Schindler Olayan Elevator Company Ltd.". Beide Partner werden im Verwaltungsrat des Unternehmens zu gleichen Teilen vertreten sein. Über weitere Details der Transaktion wurde Stillschweigen vereinbart. Schindler ist erfreut, mit der Olayan Group einen international renommierten Partner mit starken Wurzeln in der Region gefunden zu haben.
2010 erwarb Schindler zur bestehenden 20% Beteiligung die restlichen 80% an Saudi Elevator und war seither alleiniger Eigentümer. Die Übernahme verstärkt die Position des Schindler Konzerns im grössten Markt der Golfregion.
