Karl-Heinz Bauer joins Schindler as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) on June 1, 2015 and will report to the CEO, Silvio Napoli. He has had a long and successful career in leading technology functions in the automotive industry managing multi-site engineering and Research and Development organizations internationally. He joins Schindler from Honeywell Transportation Systems where he has been CTO since 2007. He has previously held leading positions in Borgwarner, Porsche and Robert Bosch. Karl-Heinz Bauer holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany.

Schindler has for many years been at the forefront of new technology developments in the industry and the appointment of the CTO to the Group Executive Committee reflects the commitment of the Group to continue to drive innovation and product excellence.

As a consequence, the Group Executive Committee will as of June 1, 2015 be composed as follows: Silvio Napoli (CEO), Erich Ammann, Karl-Heinz Bauer, David Clymo, Paolo Compagna, Carlos Guembe, Albert Haffert, Thomas Oetterli, Miguel A. Rodriguez and Oswald Schmid.
