Production is underway at a new Schindler escalator plant in Slovakia, which will supply escalators and moving walks to Schindler customers all over Europe.
The multi-million facility, which opened in September 2011, is located in the city of Dunajskà Streda, around 50km southeast of the capital, Bratislava.
“Schindler chose Dunajská Streda because of its central location, favorable investment conditions, and the quality of its personnel,” said Schindler CEO, Jürgen Tinggren, during a recent visit to the new plant. “With this new state-of-the-art facility, we can provide an even better service over a full range of leading products to all our customers.”
Schindler has plants in Asia, Europe, the United States and Brazil, in line with its strategy of locating its production as close to its customers as possible.
