Schindler has successfully closed the real estate development project Mall of Switzerland (formerly EbiSquare) together with Halter AG and sold various plots of land in Ebikon/Dierikon, close to Lucerne. Schindler has thereby achieved its goal with this project, which started more than 10 years ago.

Schindler Holding AG has sold its stake in EbiSquare AG to Halter and in addition, Schindler Aufzüge AG has sold 81,000m2 of unused industrial land in Ebikon/Dierikon. Halter can therefore now build, as the construction developer and total service contractor, the Shopping and Leisure Center Mall of Switzerland, located next door to the tourist center of Lucerne. With a total investment of CHF 450 million, the attractiveness of the region (Rontal) will be substantially strengthened, and furthermore, numerous new jobs will be created.
Following the completed transaction of May 28, 2014, Schindler is able to post in the second quarter an extraordinary profit after tax of CHF 75 million.
