As part of the United Arab Emirates Celebration Day and 47th UAE National Day, employees of the local Schindler organization visited the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) and presented “baskets of love” to vulnerable women and children, made up of hygiene and food items.
For the second year running, employees from Schindler in the United Arab Emirates make a donation to the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children. This year, the food and hygiene kits donated were put together by employees on the basis of a list of requirements provided by the Foundation.
During the presentation, the Managing Director of Schindler UAE, Hugo Miguel Ramos, expressed his gratitude to DFWAC for welcoming and providing Schindler an opportunity to support the Foundation for the second consecutive year:
“On behalf of Schindler UAE, we are privileged to be here again and continue our partnership with the Foundation. As a company, we commend DFWAC’s noble work that you do on a daily basis in elevating the lives of those who find themselves in difficult situations. We reaffirm Schindler’s commitment to engage and encourage its employees around the world and take pride in giving back to the community.”
Ms. Noura Mohamed El-Sheikh and Ms. Hamda Ahmed, both representatives of the Foundation, shed light on the kind of work undertaken by the Foundation in helping victims of domestic violence, child abuse, and human trafficking. They stated that the Foundation is the first licensed non-profit shelter in the UAE for women and children, which was established in July 2007.
The DFWAC visit also coincided with their flag hoisting ceremony to commemorate the martyrs of the UAE. Employees had the privilege to be invited in this memorable and inspiring moment as they were also greeted by Board members of this distinguished Foundation.
Schindler would like to thank its employees in the United Arab Emirates for their contribution to this worthy cause.
