New EPDs for our main product lines, the Schindler 3300, the Schindler 5500, and the Schindler 7000 have been registered and published at the International EPD® System by Environdec.
Increasing energy efficiency is essential to reduce the environmental impact of elevators and the buildings they are part of. The longest phase in the life-cycle of an elevator is the usage phase, which can be up to 30 years, depending on maintenance and modernization. To give insight into the ecological performance of our elevators throughout their life, we provide Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) which comply with ISO 14025.
Schindler has registered EPDs for all major elevator product lines, moving an important step further in the assessment of the environmental performance of our products, underlining our continuous efforts towards sustainable solutions.
An Environmental Product Declaration, or EPD, is an independently verified and registered document that communicates transparent and comparable information about the environmental impact of a product in its life-cycle in accordance with the international standard ISO 14025. The International EPD® System is a program to develop and register EPDs for any type of good and service. The system is international, third party verified and delivers flexible source information.
