Increasing diversity is a priority within Schindler, with a special focus on recruiting and retaining more women globally in leadership positions.
Our colleagues in Asia-Pacific organized an inspirational webinar in collaboration with Jennifer Martineau from the Center for Creative Leadership, who gave them tips on how to break through the glass ceiling. The session was open to all women in the region and was attended by hundreds of employees.
One participant summed up the experience saying that after the session, she realized “it’s the mindset, the unconscious bias within us, that has to change. This is where we need to kick glass”. Comments like this were common among the participants, showing how it struck a chord with them and encouraged them to think of ways they could “kick some glass”.This was not a one-off from Schindler. Sessions like this complement the Women in Leadership program currently taking place in Asia-Pacific and around the world.
