Our Head of Digital Transformation, Elena Cortona, was named as one of 100 Digital Shapers in the Swiss business magazine “Bilanz”.
As Head of Digital Transformation, Elena Cortona has been responsible for the digitization and networking of all information relating to an elevator or escalator in the Schindler Group for over a year now. "Together with my team, I'm putting this vision into practice so that a so-called 'digital twin' can later be created for each Schindler product, enabling all information along the value chain to be accessed digitally in real time and worldwide.
In concrete terms, this includes a new approach to the tried and tested: "In a digital transformation, you first have to map all work processes in detail in order to see how they can be optimized," says Cortona, who studied mechanical engineering in Turin, Italy, holds a doctorate from the ETH Zurich, and has been with Schindler since 2001. The greatest challenge, however, lies in involving the employees and bringing them closer to the advantages of digitization. Because: "Working digitally means working differently," says Cortona.
