Ping An Finance Center in Shenzhen

Schindler China, the Chinese division of the Schindler Group, was awarded a major contract to equip the 115-story megatall skyscraper in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.

Second tallest in China

Shenzhen’s Ping An Finance Center includes office and retail space and stands 599 meters high, making it the second tallest building in China and currently the 4th tallest building in the world. The structure features Schindler’s 7000 series elevators and Schindler’s cutting-edge PORT transit management technology.

“This is one of the most exciting projects in Schindler’s history,” said Thomas Oetterli, CEO of the Schindler Group. “The Ping An Finance Center is the tallest building our company has ever had the chance to work on and we are very proud of being a part of this fascinating project”. Being involved from the beginning allowed Schindler to play an integral role in the project planning.

High-rise optimized

Commissioned by the Ping An Insurance Group, one of the largest insurance firms in China, the Ping An Finance Center features 33 Schindler 7000 series double decker elevators. This high-rise optimized elevator model provides more efficient transportation and is the ideal choice for buildings with heavy traffic volume. Therefore, the Schindler 7000 again sets the standard for high-rise mobility in order to enable the construction of super skyscrapers.

PORT makes the difference

The Ping An Finance Center also benefits from Schindler’s leading technology for efficient transit management, PORT. By planning every occupant’s journey around the building and providing them with the means to reach their destinations quickly and easily, transit management optimizes the operation of the entire building with integrated access, guidance, transportation and security. The installation of the office elevator section started in December 2013 and was completed in 2017.
