Solar power system at Schindler Australia head offices

Schindler Australia has installed a solar power system on the roof of its head office that will act as an on-site power station producing nearly 45% of weekday power requirements.

Shifting to renewable power generation is key to achieving the CO2 emission reduction targets agreed in the Paris Agreement (2015) and limiting climate change. Today, buildings account for approximately 40% of global energy requirements and are a significant contributor to global CO2 emissions.

Schindler Australia is proactively engaging with the renewable energy challenge to reduce these emissions. The new solar power system at its headquarters in Sydney will prevent 151 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.

The team’s environmental ambitions don’t stop there – this is the first stage of the project. If the solar power system proves effective over the next year, the size of the head office system will double and similar projects will be evaluated in other branches.
