"We at Schindler aim to seize the climate crisis challenge, and do our part for our planet, society, and our business." Silvio Napoli, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Sustainability is central to the way we do business: it governs the way we work and deliver value. Building on foundations laid over five generations, we're dedicated to healthy growth that benefits our shareholders as much as our customers, our employees, and the communities in which we're active.
Sustainability means different things for us.
Climate action is a priority: we're working on reducing our carbon footprint in our operations, but we also help our customers become more sustainable, through energy-efficient products and innovative solutions.
Our sustainability efforts extend beyond our own operations to our supply chain: we engage with a group of strategic suppliers to improve their sustainability performance.
Sustainability also means maintaining an environment that ensures health and safety to all, but also one where everyone feels can bring their whole selves to work – the very definition of an inclusive and diverse workplace.
We make a positive impact on communities throughout the world by supporting education, out of the conviction that education leads to social and economic progress.
We continue to embed sustainability in our business. We've set a sustainability roadmap for 2022, which outlines a clear course of action, built around six strategic priorities for maximum impact. More details can be found in our Corporate Responsibility Report.
We intend to incorporate industry-specific recommendations of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) into our reporting 2021.
