'At Schindler, we believe that sustainability is a mind-set. It is about the way we act and assume responsibility – toward shareholders, the company, and its employees. Sustainability is our commitment to society, our planet, and future generations.' Silvio Napoli, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Sustainability at Schindler is more than striving to minimize the use of natural resources. We facilitate sustainable, smart urban mobility, while committing to a sustainable supply chain for all our products and driving innovation for green building management. Sustainability at Schindler also means enabling an inclusive work environment in which a workforce as diverse as our customers and passengers can thrive. And sustainability means creating value in the communities we are part of, for instance by helping develop young talent through education and training and by fostering lifelong learning for our technicians.
We embed sustainability across our company and have set a sustainability roadmap for 2022 which is driven by the Board of Directors. It establishes a clear framework for action on six strategic priorities to generate the greatest possible impact. More details on our roadmap and performance can be found in our Sustainability Report.
Schindler supports the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development as well as the Paris Climate Agreement, both adopted in 2015. These six United Nations Sustainable Development Goals are those where Schindler can have the most impact, although we contribute to a wider set of goals.
