Nominations 2017

We know the winners! The 2017 Schindler Global Award student urban
designcompetition jury has selected 12 nominees for prizes. Jurors met
in São Paulo, Brazil, the site of the competition, during the first week
of February 2017.

 They reviewed over 150 projects submitted by teams from around the world. Mobility, accessibility andurban regeneration were important topics in the competition brief, titled “Transformingthe urban core: Urban design for coexistence”.

The jury was composed of experts and practitioners from a range of backgrounds. Thejury members were: Claudio Bernardes, Ciro Biderman, Jose Castillo, Anna Dietzsch,Elisabete França, Hubert Klumpner, Carlos Leite, Adriana Levisky, Fernando Mello deFranco, Sandro Pincherle, Neil Runcieman, Georgeen Theodore and Paula Viganò.

Lively debates over urban issues and design methodologies were highlights of the jurymeeting. Their final selection represents a variety of approaches to commonchallenges in 21st century urban design.

Award Ceremony

The ranking of winners will be announced on the 25th of April 2017 at the official awardceremony, which will be open to the public. Representatives from each nominatedteam will attend. Prizes from 25,000 to 5,000 USD will be awarded. A companionpublication featuring the winning projects will be launched at the ceremony.
