Solar Impulse, the zero fuel airplane aiming to fly around the world propelled only by solar energy, will start the Around-the-World Mission Flights in Abu Dhabi March 2015 to July 2015.
The trip will take five months, last 500 hours total flight time, cross 35,000km and land in 12 locations across the world.
Myanmar, where Schindler has its subsidiary operating since 1999 is selected as one of the stopovers apart from India, China, United States and Southern Europe or Northern Africa.
After the 8 world records set by the Solar Impulse prototype, when it became the first solar airplane ever to fly through the night, between two continents, and across the United States, it is time for Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg to move on to the ultimate phase of the adventure: the 2015 round-the-world flight.
What better way to demonstrate the importance of the pioneering and innovatory spirit than by achieving “ impossible ” things with renewable energy and by highlighting new solutions for environmental problems?
