Jürgen Tinggren hands over CEO function to Silvio Napoli

Silvio Napoli is to be appointed CEO of the Schindler Group as of January 1, 2014. Jürgen Tinggren is to be proposed for election to the Board of Directors of Schindler Holding AG at the Annual Shareholder Meeting of March 17, 2014. He is foreseen to join the Executive Committee of the Board.

The Board of Directors has decided to appoint Silvio Napoli as CEO of the Schindler Group as of January 1, 2014. He will take over the operating responsibility for the whole Group.

The Board of Directors of Schindler Holding AG has further decided to propose the election of Jürgen Tinggren to the Board of Directors at the Annual Shareholder Meeting of March 17, 2014. Following his election, it is foreseen that Jürgen Tinggren will join the Executive Committee of the Board. Since 2007 Jürgen Tinggren has been President of the Group Executive Committee and was appointed CEO of the Schindler Group on October 1, 2011.

Silvio Napoli joined the Schindler Group in 1994. He has been a member of the Group Executive Committee with responsibility for the Asia/Pacific region since March 1, 2008. From 2005 to 2008 he was CEO of the Jardine Schindler Group and prior to that General Manager of Schindler Hong Kong. Since he joined the Group he has held various other positions, including Vice President South Asia, CEO Schindler India and Head Corporate Planning.

Thomas Oetterli has been a member of the Group Executive Committee since January 1, 2010 and since April 1, 2013 he has overall responsibility for all the Group’s operations in China. As of January 1, 2014 he will report direct to the CEO.

As a consequence, the Group Executive Committee will as of January 1, 2014 be composed as follows: Silvio Napoli (CEO), Erich Ammann, David Clymo, Didier Gaudoux, Albert Haffert, Thomas Oetterli, Miguel A. Rodriguez, Oswald Schmid and Jakob Züger.
