Have you split the shares recently?
A 10-for-1 split of all registered shares and bearer participation certificates took effect on March 27, 2006, after being agreed at the 2006 Annual General Meeting. The capital of Schindler Holding Ltd. now comprises 73,568,200 registered shares with a nominal value of CHF 0.10 and 50,936,400 bearer participation certificates with a nominal value of CHF 0.10. Please note that at the AGM of March 20, 2007, it was decided that 480,000 of the bearer participation certificates purchased in 2006 should be cancelled. The capital was correspondingly reduced by CHF 48,000 on May 24, 2007, on expiration of the legally required notice period.

Does Schindler buy back shares?
In December 2006 the Board of Directors of Schindler Holding Ltd. decided to launch a program to repurchase a maximum of 10% of the total nominal capital of Schindler Holding Ltd. Should less than 10% of the registered share capital be offered,Schindler Holding Ltd. has the right to repurchase more than 10% of the bearer participation capital. However, the total repurchases must not exceed 10% of the nominal capital of Schindler Holding Ltd. Schindler Holding Ltd. will terminate the repurchase program as soon as 10% of the nominal capital has been repurchased. The repurchase program began on January 3, 2007, and is scheduled to run until December 31, 2008.

For the repurchase program of Schindler Holding Ltd., separate second trading lines have been set up in the main segment of the SWX Swiss Exchange for the registered shares and bearer participation certificates of Schindler Holding Ltd. respectively. These two trading lines are exclusively reserved for Schindler Holding Ltd. as purchaser to purchase registered shares and bearer participation certificates of Schindler Holding Ltd.

Under this program, 1 117 000 registered shares and 1 679 500 bearer participaton certificates were repurchased between January 1, 2007, and February 13, 2008, with the aim of reducing the Group's capital. This corresponds to 2.25% of all outstanding securities. Schindler Holding Ltd. will propose a corresponding reduction of its nominal capital to the Ordinary General Meeting on March 26, 2008.
